The Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation was established in April 2000 when it acquired The Fleming Collection from Robert Fleming & Co. Limited prior to the sale of the bank the same year. Started in 1968, The Fleming Collection is widely regarded as the finest collection of Scottish art in private hands, comprising paintings from 1770 to the present day. The Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation is a registered charity.  The gallery in Mayfair shows four exhibitions a year is visited by over 100,000 people annually. The Foundation aims to raise the profile of Scottish art, which is poorly represented in museums and galleries outside Scotland, by introducing it to a wider audience.
